How to irritate Mama Bear in two simple steps

1. Tell her that you've put up a new Christmas decoration.
2. Refuse to tell her what or where it is.


Alternatively, how to annoy Robin Hood in two simple steps:

1. Get onto the Tekkit server he plays on.
2. Become better at Tekkit in two days than he has in a month.


I put the Lego nativity up and told Mama Bear about it, and she spent about fifteen minutes walking around the front room trying to find what had changed. Then, when she finally found it, she laughed for about another ten. There are over forty nativity scenes in this house right now, so it's no surprise she didn't catch the itty bitty Lego one.

Also, when I found out Robin Hood was playing Tekkit with his friends, I asked if I could learn to play it, since I learn best by doing with occasional instructions and nudges along the way. About two days ago, I got onto the server with him, had some stumbles at first. I have now reached the point where I'm showing him how to do the more advanced bit. I think this may actually be my new favourite mod ever now.

It's really fun. Now I wish I'd been able to learn it a while ago.

I'm gonna cry. There will be crying in the near future

My baby monitor is dying a slow and painful death. This makes me glad that I got the big one when I did, because I would not be able to replace anything right now, but oh man. I've become spoilt by dual display. It's so nice to have my email and my internet (or my Minecraft game and the appropriate wiki) visible at the same time.

It's all so bad right now. In order to get anything with a colour that isn't white to show up, I have to jack up the brightness, gama, and contrast to unspeakable levels. And then my email tries to blind me. I may have to just put the baby to sleep unless I'm Minecrafting, because it's a pain in the ass to keep changing the colour settings any time I switch between the two applications.


Going back to a single monitor is going to suck. Completely and utterly suck.
