I figured I'd show some stuff off.

Here's the cathedral I've been working on forever. I'm not quite thrilled with the wool and glowstone for the windows, but I haven't many other options here. Finding mods with good stained glass is tricky. Mods that continue to be updated even more so. D:

And here's the whole map I'm working on. It's a custom map that I created in World Painter, so it does a bunch of stuff that you don't get in Vanilla. I'll eventually show off my Dwarven cities at one point, but they're still very much a work in progress.

The red thing in the top right is a volcano that erupted hilariously violently. I hadn't meant for it to be quite so... catastrophic, but there it is. Whoops.

Sunday Six

Each Sunday, post six sentences from a writing project -- published, submitted, in progress, for your cat -- whatever.

Someone else on my F-list is doing this, and it looked interesting. So, this week, I'll give you six sentences from the chapter I finished last night. The last six, actually. This is only the first draft, so a lot of it will probably change by the time it goes up.

"Don't ever humiliate me like that again," he said with a voice like steel.

"It was all you," Fandral realised, suddenly furious. "You did—"

"And good luck convincing anyone of it," Loki said. "By midday, the entire court will know you as a liar."

As Fandral glared at him, Loki replaced his cheery expression and ran off to catch up with Vali and Alv for their football game.

I won't give away what Fandral did to Loki, or what Loki did to get back at him, but I will say that these events represent a turning point in Loki's character. He's grown up, and become very close to the character he is in canon. He's also finally started to win the respect of Asgard through his own deeds, but by this point, he's gone so long without it that he's not quite sure what to do with it, which is where the whole AU part really starts to come into play.

I didn't want to put them on the same post. I don't know why.

Not so much bored as I am just going slightly mad. Robin Hood's cat doesn't like me, and refuses to come sleep on the bed unless he's alone, or Robin Hood's there as well. Which means that last night, rather than being in his usual spot on someone's face, he walked through the house crying. Loudly. All through the night. I was up quite a bit earlier than I planned on being, but I gave up on sleep around 8am finally.

Just. Augh. Why.

Also, the little blighters have taken to putting their food bowl somewhere mad, so feeding them in the morning requires a quick game of hide and seek first. I can't wait for everyone to get home, just so I can finally sleep through the night again.

People seemed interested in my Minecraft screen shots, so I'll probably take a few more today and post them. The cathedral is just one of many ridiculous things I've built over time, and not even the most ridiculous. I'll wake up first. Maybe eat something. Perhaps a cat.

Here's some more of my stuff. Mostly weird little things, but some sort of weird big things. Most of this stuff took a couple of hours at most. Some of it is still ongoing, and will be forever, at the rate they're progressing. Lots of images, under lots of cuts.

I find that a lot of things, particularly the things like the Viking ship, need to be made to a rather large scale before they start looking decent. Most of the stuff, I build off the cuff, but some of the more intricate things are designed two-dimensionally in MSPaint first, and then as I build, I sort of have to extrapolate the third dimension from my diagram. The mutant clipper ship is the only exception to either of these. I have a model of the Cutty Sark, and I put it on my desk and sort of just built what I saw from it. And then for some weird reason, I gave it a massive aft cabin.
