First draft of my
avengers_xchng is officially done. I finished it last night and then went straight to bed. Now to do the second draft and hand it off to my beta for the final polishing.
If you're in America, you're probably doing Thanksgiving drama as well. My birthday falls on Thursday this year, which is always enough to piss me off toward the holiday before the month even starts. For years, as a kid, my birthday and Thanksgiving were celebrated as the same thing, so I never got to have a proper party for it. Everyone was already too stressed with Thanksgiving preparations or busy or not in town or whatever. Now, even though I usually just tend to stay in on my birthday (or else go somewhere really, really big, like Disneyland a few years ago), I still get annoyed when it falls on the holiday. I cannot stay in and be a hermit this year. I have to go out and deal with people.
Also, Thanksgiving apparently starts on Tuesday for me. My mum has decided that she's too good for Thursday, and is going to go ride dune buggies or something on the day. So she's having her own little Thanksgiving on Tuesday. My grandparents are going to go, but I don't expect anyone else to show up. If my aunt can make the three-hour drive to my grandparents' house for Thanksgiving proper, then my mum can suck it up and go as well. She's really annoyed a lot of the family with this behaviour lately, and my aunt hardly talks to her at all. /I/ hardly talk to her at all.
Thursday is going to be a day of two Thanksgivings. By Friday morning, I am not going to want to look at another turkey ever. We're doing Robin Hood's side of the family in the morning, because they're closest. Not sure how we're going to work out the timing, or the cars, but that's how we're doing it. Then we're going up to my grandparents' place, because Robin Hood has been putting off seeing any of my family since we've been back in Washington. I asked him the other night if he's met David yet, or seen Miranda. David is my aunt's 'new' husband. Miranda is their six-year-old daughter. This is how long we've been gone, apparently. lol
