Oh my god

All the everything. All of it! DOT POINTS!

• Saw Iron Man 3 a while ago. Loved it, mostly. Could have done with less Harry Lockhart and more Tony Stark, but put Shane Black and Robert Downey Jr in the same room and that's what you inevitably get.


• Saw Gatsby very recently. I really, really enjoyed it. Like, wish I had the money to see it again enjoyed it. I want to roll in Gatsby's mess of shirts, enjoyed it.


• I've had no internet for a while. Well, I've had some internet, but not much. Like, getting online was a matter of swearing for five minutes until the page finally loaded, only to get kicked off when the phone rang. Turns out, the rain broke the phone line. Stupid DSL. But it's fixed now.


• The rain also brings cold. I do not like the cold. The cold can go stuff itself.


• I've been playing a lot of Don't Starve in lieu of doing anything useful. If you haven't played that one, get it. It's great. Full of whimsy, and surprisingly scary. Goddamn Deerclops. Go to hell, you one-eyed bastard.


• I foresee the death of the anonmeme on the horizon, and I foresee the bug that's making them difficult being announced as an anti-spam feature within the week.


• My dudes are running out of space. I got a War Machine bobble head the same day I saw Gatsby. I have never seen a more sad-looking weapon of destruction since certain versions of the Cybermen.


• Apparently Doctor Who has come and gone. I caught the first episode, and managed to miss ever single one after. Because I suck.


• I still fail at writing. But I have got over the hurdle that was keeping me from writing anything at all. Second draft of the latest Midgard Legends chapter is being typed up, well, not right this moment, but was just before I started doing this post.


• I have inevitably forgotten things. They'll come up later, or they won't.

A little bit more on the internet

I'm not only able to stay connected, but the speed is noticeably faster. Like, may actually be able to play online games faster. It makes me wonder how long the problem's been there, and if it's ever worked properly since they had it, since neither Mama Bear nor Papa Bear ever noticed a problem with the speed until about a week ago.

I was absolutely convinced that it was the ISP choking the bandwidth, because the internet was behaving exact like that that. But a broken phone line wound up being a much simpler fix, apparently. The guy had it sorted in under an hour, and since it was the phone line that they own and maintain, it was a cheaper fix as well, since they'd been looking at maybe switching to cable.

I still prefer cable internet, but I no longer feel like I'm on dial-up at least.
